Double Header @ The Point

In very trying weather conditions (blowing a gale), Merewether Magik weekend pennants team played a double header @ Soldiers Point against the Sisters on Sat 13th.

Both games were tight affairs with the opportunity for anyone to come away with the win.
Game 1 saw the Sisters steal the game on the final end. Magik were holding a 2 shot lead but it proved too difficult for the team to control their weight in the strong gusty wind, allowing the Sisters to score 3 shots and take the win.

After a lovely lunch and warming up, the 2nd game commenced with even stronger winds affecting the game. This game was a see-sawing affair until Magik snuck ahead a little to lead 11-6. After losing the next couple of ends and dropping a 5, they allowed the Sisters to lead 15-13. Magik fought back to lead 17-16 going into the last end and were very unlucky not to get the shot with the game ending at 17-17.

Despite the conditions there were some great bowls played and friendships started.
Lee-Anne rounded off the day by hustling her opposition in a game of pool.

Magik head back to Soldiers Point next week to play Soldiers Point Chicks in Round 3 of weekend pennants.
