Club Veteran Takes Out Minor Singles Title

Kevin "Colonel" Laffey won the Merewether Bowling Club's Minor Singles Title on Sunday 4th October. Laffey took on newcomer Cameron Chaffey and made a solid start leading 12-2 after 10 ends of play and 19-11 after 17. Chaffey picked up 8 shots over the next 4 ends to level at 19-19. Both players went shot for shot over the ensuing 14 ends playing good draw bowls with the game locked up at 29-29. After 35 ends Laffey drew 2 shots to win 31-29 to claim the 2020 Minor Singles Title.
